Alphabet of Happiness

Alphabet of Happiness

Age is not how old you are, but how many years of fun you've had.

Living a conscious life, aware of all the choices before us in almost each moment, but certainly in each day – that leads to a happy life in every moment and every day – is a deliberate process of creation, in concert and unison with our soul. It is a constant process of expansion. Think of it as a never ending stream, like a water in the river, or light. Simply staying connected with the source (without blocking or resisting it), will produce much happiness – but allowing ourselves to be moved by that inspiration – will unlock possibilities beyond our wildest dreams.

Everyone I know who is aware of this will have their own interpretation – and each one is correct. In fact, it is exactly like that – each one of us knows best for ourselves what is the right choice for us in facing any life situation. We don’t always listen to our inner voice of guidance, but it is unmistakably there, available to take advantage of its wisdom and broader perspective than we have at any given moment in time. Of course, those who are not yet conscious and life by default, convinced that the life is a collection of random events and chaos that sometimes accidentally produces miracles (or not as the case may be more often) – are having a rougher ride than necessary. I am not going to stop openly talking about this, absolutely trusting that the universe itself is always navigating these words to people who are meant (open and able) to hear them.

So often in life those of us who marvel at the magic and art of living, are surprised by the variety of ideas, people and opportunities coming our way.  And the more we go beyond the surface - these little rituals of love, connection and unstoppable inspiration seem to be the fabric of our existence. We don’t stop to observe them, because we are immersed in living through and with them. These little rituals serve us so well that we constantly adapt them to our way of being, and they grow with us into these more beautiful and profound reflections of our soul – the pictures of gratitude and grace and pure love that we sprinkle everywhere we go….

Today I want to share one of my personal rituals which was always playful, fun thing to do when I was a child, but as a grown up I realised that its value has so many layers, that if I started listed them – we would be here for quite a few days. Instead, I will just say that upon waking up, grateful for the chance to see another day and get another opportunity to become even better version of myself than I was yesterday – after saying thanks and sending a prayer for everyone in my heart – I go through my alphabet of happiness. I am sharing it with you as I believe it to be a very powerful tool in helping set the daily intention to always look for good and to keep everything in perspective.

The Intent

This is just one soulful ritual I have, but it is fun and light-hearted, making it easiest to share first, which indicates to me that it might be the easier way to start practicing soul work, mindful presence in the moment and bringing awareness to every part of our being, with love, understanding and respect. If you are new to self-love, it’s an excellent way to enter our soul without criticising and judgment for our own being. Just relax into it and allow pure joy to flood your heart.

This is how I do it: For each letter of the alphabet I will think of a word (often even say, or whisper this to myself) – and also connect the meaning that word has for me. (Sometimes I start with Thank you for…. and then I say the word and what it means to me.) The words often change, as I say the first one that pops into my head, but some letters always inspire me to think of the people closest to me, so they always claim that letter first! That is amusing to me and I don’t try and change it – I just follow the way I feel, and where my heart wants to go. Always.

Here is my example, to get you started. You should absolutely change it and adapt it to reflect what's truly on your heart! Enjoy and have some fun with it.
