Reconnecting
Style Saturday Series
Post 13
Although the intent of my daily writing to you, my friend, remains the same, as I want to take you on a journey of the human spirit – that story is very much shaped by the experiences we find ourselves in on daily basis. So, irrelevant whether you read this today, when you and I are living through several joint experiences at once, or you are aligning with it in the future – our souls have met and we have travelled this part of the road together.
Remember – You Are Safe Here
Our word and emotion for today is calling us to reconnect – however that translates and applies. It may be reconnecting with those we love, with those we lost, with new friends, with family members, with what moves us, with kindness, with love, with ourselves. For me all of the above pretty much unfolded today, and because of its rewards I am inspired to share and invite you to go within and see where your soul wants to take you today – agreeing to let it do just that.
Please be gentle with yourself. It was never a good idea to be hard on yourself, but if you have carried any feeling of self judgment, now it’s the perfect moment to gently remind yourself that you did the best with what you had available and what you knew you could reach inside you. If you had more, you would have given more. It’s OK. Not one of us personifies perfection, but real, raw emotion. We are here to learn. And healing is part of learning. Sometimes there is a feeling of too much pain that we carry around.
Life is a dance that is full of opportunities to bring the magic of creation to it. Joy and pain are cycles, they are natural as birth and death. We don’t get much say in either of those, and I am pretty certain we didn’t come into the rich life experience to focus on either of those two events, but to bring meaning to the part in the middle. The part which we create. And we create by choosing how we feel. Yes, you did read that correctly. We choose how we feel. And sometimes we choose to dwell, muse over, lament, hold on when we ought to let go.
In fact, let me just bring your attention to that last bit. It’s OK to let go. Everything that is changing in our life is inviting us to stand up and move forward. By letting go what is no longer there and embracing what is this moment – we create and allow the opportunity to heal, grow, expand and perhaps we will have a new and improved chance to experience that thing we can’t let go of. But if we hold on when we ought to let it be – we hold ourselves back from the best outcome naturally unfolding…. Just think about that for a bit and feel safe to let it go. Please believe me that it does come back and you get to really enjoy having another go playing with that same energy.
Because that is life - that very play. Calculated moves are waste of energy in life that is constantly moving, expanding and rocking us. We have to catch its rhythm and immerse ourselves in being, breathing, living. We have to be willing to let go of the rigid, unnatural and uncontrollable – and reconnect with our soul. Our soul is the best dance partner we could ever wish for. And the only ones that can be out of sync is us. Isn’t it great to know that our souls are dependable partners for life? So, why don’t we treat ourselves with respect and love more of the time? I mean – all of the time?
Reconnect with everything that matters to you. Or better yet, reconnect with everything that you want to bring meaning to and start enjoying the dance. Even the sad parts are natural, they happen so that we can appreciate the calm, uneventful days even more, so that we can start thinking and bringing meaning to all of our days. Not just the ‘special’ ones - because no day is more special than this day, and every moment you are aware that we are here together.
See how I just reconnected with you? Now go do it with everyone you can think of! And send them my love, too.
P.S. Now you are thinking how does this make sense as a ‘style’ series post…. Keep reading, I didn’t say I’m done yet….
* * * * The Update – 353 Days to Dream * * * *
1.
Drawing the scale plan, with ruler, set square and technical pencil – I’m so happy we reconnected today! It has been so long, I almost forgot how great it feels to convert those little measurements into scale and draw the actual (only smaller – well, in case of my apartment – not THAT much smaller) layout of the space. It was thrilling, my friend. And I am grateful to you, because this week has been so phenomenally busy with activities, that the only thing that kept me believing was sticking to small steps, and small victories every day. That constant, steady progress is what will make us achieve brilliant end result, and beyond – something we don’t even dream at the moment.
2.
Grateful to feel our connected energy and as I work on my 365 Days to Dream project, I am sending you thoughts, and your messages are revealing and reflecting the same energy. We are already victorious, on every step we take together on this journey. I am grateful to all of you who are creating alongside and all of you cheering for us and getting inspired more each day. We are all in this together, and the more we keep reconnecting with our souls and with each other – the easier and more enjoyable our journeys will be, and faster and greater the progress. There is absolutely no doubt about that, evident just from the energy we shared today.

Seeing that tomorrow is Sunday, I will take some time to see how I can make progress next week.
Sidenote: Having done a smaller side project involving sewing, I deliberately left my sewing machine on the desk to remind me that I want to start pulling out those fabrics and setting aside even 20-30 minutes a day, or every other day to do some sewing and determine how I feel about it. That will then help me figure out whether I need all of those fabrics, or do I let go of some of them.
Also, I think tomorrow is perfect to have a closer look into the ideas file and to measure exactly what will have to be altered and moved inside the house in order for the wall removal to happen between the living room and the kitchen. Obviously, that project will have to be put back (not that I was about to start on that), but to have a clear idea of what will be necessary alterations is good, because then when the time comes that we can take action – everything will be ready. Still, that is just beginning phases, planning and thinking. I will let you know tomorrow what I did in the end.
Oh, yes, please remember to look out for the next episode of This is Your Moment podcast, called Creating Beauty…. It’s going to be broadcast early tomorrow. I will give you the link, of course.
