Holding the Highest Standard

Holding the Highest Standard

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

Very few things can measure up in level of personal satisfaction they bring, as true knowing that we are holding ourselves to a high standard, and not only maintaining it, but daily working on raising that bar wherever appropriate. Be sure to know there will be situations in which the said standards will help you to instinctively feel and be brave enough to exercise them, but there will also be situations for which you will think: there is room for growth here.

Why is This Relevant Today

Today, more than ever before, a lot of advice is flying about things like mindset, confidence and self-love.  While all of these are crucially important, I like to build my house from the foundation, and unless this is solid, all other work will sooner or later simply crumble, not withstanding the storms of life.

Two things are a given in our physical manifestation of a life-time:

1.  We are mortals and this can be our last day here together (this deserves a separate post, but I want to make the point here that the length of our life is less important than knowing that there is plenty of time to complete the mission we came here to do).

2.  Life will take us through stages of learning, giving us the opportunities for expansion, because that is why we are here, and on some level we do understand and know this. Understand these difficulties on your path as your own personal life school (and note that every person is going through their own unique set of learning experiences), where your soul has a chance and choice to excel, or a choice to sit here and cry to kingdom come over your destiny, assuming the most powerless victim mindset there is.

Observe

I know I was extremely fortunate, and not a day goes by without my expression of gratitude to have been born into the family whose each member was an advocate only of those things they truly believed. They passed onto us the great values of integrity, and I discovered throughout life that this was unfortunately not the case for a vast majority of my dearest friends.

Fortunately, this is totally fixable by each one of us. It takes observing values that someone is displaying, and thinking to yourself: Does this resonate with my inner truth? If it does, your heart knows same values already. There are so many wonderful teachers, especially those tremendous souls who have left us volumes of their thoughts gathered in books – all valuable signs to us. There are real life teachers, people who have risen from a soul crushing experience and stood victorious, holding the highest standard for themselves. I have learned from them just as much. It is most reassuring to feel that we are not alone. Yes, we are the only one going through our own unique experience, but everyone else is on a similar path, too. We don’t have to feel alone, that is just a trick of our mind. We can always choose to look at something in a different way, and that brings relief and another perspective, which may be soothing (mending or healing) and closer to our truth than the one we adopted as our own, but was causing us pain and distress.

I just want to assure you that at any point when my own life was going through a storm, there was always a bright light that appeared in my life, a soul who understood and held the same values, same highest standards. Just knowing they exist made it somehow easier for me – as if for comfort, as if to reaffirm my choices louder and clearer as right for me in that moment, as if to teach me to see the lesson, to see the opportunity to grow through difficulties I was facing. Such is the magic of life. In those moments, you are not alone, my friend. There is always an angel by your side.

Start Where You Are

There is no reason why today can’t be the day when you do your best soul searching to date. Start here and build on that. There is a whole world of knowledge and life wisdom inside you. Your soul is connected to infinite wisdom, my friend. In this respect, no one has more than you – this is the ultimate resource for every soul. The only difference is that some are more aware or already aware, and some are more open or willing to always start where they are. Skipping a lesson in school of life only means having it come back - endlessly, patiently, lovingly - until you are ready to learn and move forward.

There is no way back!

P. S. There is a tremendous amount of joy that is generated through offering you my inner most thoughts of this moment. Should you feel compelled to respond, please know that you are welcome and invited to do so. And all is absolutely fine if you want to just quietly think about it all.... You will be treated with kindness. In any case, I wish you well, my friend, in all your days and the soul mission you are on. Sending you peace and love, always.
