More of the Same? No, Thank You

More of the Same? No, Thank You!

Not for me. I like the idea of being offered to read more of what I like, but not more of the same, and especially not being bombarded with it. The new age marketing was a novelty for a short period of time, but it has lost all originality in the sheer volume of noise – on every level. It has crossed the fine line of common sense and while it would be truly helpful to small business owners to reach their audience, the people who truly resonate with their message – the big fish has been allowed into that pond and it massacred everything sensible.

I came onto the business scene in the midst of the chaos. I observed, read, deciphered, learned, looked, watched, applied what was applicable, thought and re-thought, started, watched, listened, observed, still am – and woke up one day with clarity I needed for myself. I haven’t lost it, thank God for that, because this is not for the faint hearted.  Oh, yes, I bought as well! Of course I wanted to invest in my own learning. I am glad I did, because the learning curve was steep, but shorter. NO! Not that learning curve – not the one I paid for, but what the experience of buying a course (or two) taught me. That’s worth its weight in gold - not just most of the money I had available to me after my employment ended, and I knew that life was presenting to me the real opportunity to grow. My paid job could not offer me to grow at a rate that I am used to growing, you see. That’s why that pace will always have to be in my own hands.

The Time of Reckoning

You have to be honest with yourself. If you aren’t - you are in deep trouble, fast. And I don’t mean anything relevant to the outside factors. We have already established that the only measure is your relationship with your inner being. If you are not honest with you, i.e. your inner being - nothing will make sense, and the further you head in that direction, the worse it will feel to remain disconnected.

So, honest I was, and will be forever. There is no shame, nor fear in starting from nothing, just pure love and incredible strength of belief in self. No time for self-doubt, FOMO, ‘shiny’ distractions, writers block – or whatever else is the thing (read: the excuse, and the avoiding of doing the real thing) of the day. I am not only honest with myself, but that level of honesty applies to everyone else, my friend. Oh, I am sure they are ‘real’ obstacles for those who believe in them and trip over them, or are held back by them. I just don’t believe in that, because what we need is always there, available for us – the power, dignity and devotion of our inner being remain. In other words, all we need to happily sail on to wherever our heart desires to go. Those desires for some of us will be connected with impacting on other lives in a positive and powerful ways, but for others it may be a quiet, kind and loving life. There is no one right way, nor one right road to true happiness. But being fulfilled is the only goal, and the quest for joy our only reason for pursuing anything.

Beginning a business will require most of your energy, and – much like with everything in life – if your whole heart isn’t in it – don’t even think about doing it.

Potentials are Many

And I suggest you explore your creative side a lot. Because, I believe that creative side puts you in closest contact with your inner being than anything else. At least I have experienced it that way. Some people advocate meditation, and I can see how that benefits them, but in my life, creative process has all the meditative qualities, as I am closely listening to answers from within, my mind is quiet, and my soul is singing – that’s how happy I feel when I am creating. That can be writing this, painting, sewing, baking, anything where I can give all of me to creating something.

What I wished that paid courses were teaching was to promote individuality and true originality in small, especially hand crafted, and art businesses. They didn’t. Oh, well, that’s how this chapter of my life started, and you are the witness of its unfolding in my present moment, and in your present moment. I have decided, and resolved to see it through, my friend.

Remember – You Are Safe Here

This is the sacred place between our souls. Thank you for sharing your visions, dreams and ideas. Your courage to be vulnerably seen will always be respected, and you will be treated with nothing but kindness and compassion. ♡
