When There Are No Precedents
Wednesday is Business Series

Decidedness, and absolute resolve to follow your heart will inevitably lead you down the path of there are no precedents, but that needn’t be alarming, my friend. By now, we have talked about tuning yourself to the precise guidance of your inner being, which is your connection with the source. You have quieted your mind enough to be able to distinguish the inspired ideas, and you have learned that it is safe to act, because those ideas are safe way into expansion.
Also, we have defined our own meanings and measures of success and we balance them with our dreams. Our daily rituals keep us building the strong structure, and we can not only measure the progress (this is a steady moving forward, sometimes in huge leaps, sometimes in strategic smaller steps – depending on whatever we are working on) – but we can keep check with the goals in sight, we can adjust, modify, extend, complete some and create new opportunities for further ones that are coming in sight.
Recently, I was a party to the conversation which was opened with the statement that business and real life have many similarities. The way I see it, they are inseparable. Certainly in creating an art brand that has one artist (yourself) at the heart of the business – anything else would seem illogical. But even on a deeper level, every principle you base your life on, every standard you set for yourself as a person – is absolutely translatable into the business you’re building – even if that business has nothing to do with art, but it is still a creative process and, I certainly make this point: for the ultimate fulfilment it is necessary that you base it on the same standards you adopt in your life. If you lower them, or adjust them, your business will not be able to grow at the same rate you are, and you will introduce friction and imbalance.
Yes, it may take a lot more consideration to start with, but when you build on the strong foundation, it will get easier the further you go – you will be quick at recognising the right people, both to work with and to serve; you will instinctively (as you are meant to do) know which choices to make, as your business will grow and expand at the same rate as you…. I am sure you get the picture here.
Avoid looking for things like ‘done for you’ business models. By all means, study in some detail those that are relevant to you, especially those who have walked their own path of creating a business from an idea, passion, desire – but then take real time, instead of blindly following – to disconnect and look inside you for answers (and I know, the deeper you go in learning from a mentor, the more you uncover and start fearing you will miss something if you stop focusing on them every minute of every day – after all they are present on every social media platform you are on – and they run ads that follow you everywhere you go on the internet).
So, I am going to say something really radical here: as useful as it is to have a teacher in front of you, simply for knowing what you believe is true – it is possible for everyone to realise their potential – it is not necessary to attach yourself to their model in order to succeed. In fact, the quicker you are in establishing what exactly you are taking on board and learning, applying it in your way and then running away with your own ideas a step further – the better for your business. That is if you are creating an authentic brand – irrelevant of how big or small (in someone else’s terms) you want it to be. Focus on what you are building and do it your own way. (Why would anyone want to create anything else?)
Life, and Business – Without Precedents
- Give yourself permission.
- Start trusting that you have what it takes.
- Know that you don’t need to follow; you are capable of figuring everything out for yourself – by yourself (with a little help from your soul).
- Believe that your dreams are just as great and would serve you and others in brilliant ways.
- Allow for it to be the learning process.
- Be prepared to act when you receive a clear idea from within. It’s safe to follow it.
- Know that you are ready – you are always ready when ideas come to you.
- Enjoy the creation. The feeling of joy in creating has to be equal, if not greater than the joy you’d feel if you reached that top of that goal. And the next. And so on.
- Know that it will take time. Everything worth doing is worth doing well, so give it your best.
- Keep it simple. Simple means clear, elegant and with integrity. Simply does not mean easy.
- Love it.
- It is all unfolding in the best way for you, my friend - as it is for all of us.
P.S. In the Making
I am working on couple of really exciting projects at the moment. One involves painting, which fills my heart with pure bliss, and the other one is the creation of podcast. I know that the time is right, I just feel this is the next step I can take in connecting with you, and I love every minute of this preparation. Don’t worry, I promise you I am not perfecting it, just learning the basics, so that we can have a smooth start. But I can almost not wait till it happens, I am that excited to start sharing it with you.
Tell me where you are at the moment, if you feel inspired.
