Style Saturday Series

Do you always need a white canvas and a clean slate to start? I’d recommend it, as I really believe that makes things quicker and easier, although it practical life that doesn’t always line up. On the plus side, having the starting point of reference for a design scheme can be helpful, as it takes the number of countless possibilities and narrows our choices to the amount that is acceptable and most probably fits with our taste and lifestyle. (Otherwise, why would you choose to start your scheme around something you don’t even like?)

As you may be aware, I have started the home renovation/mostly redesign project called 365 Days to Dream. You can read an update at the end of this post, but for Style Saturday I want to take you on a little journey through the thinking process. For this exercise sake let’s say that we have decided to undertake a home improvement project. I’m not going to address redecorating projects, but if you learned anything about me in over 100 blog posts, and at least 3 times as many photographs – each and every day calls for a better version of ourselves to show up, and if we want to change something, we are going to go a little deeper this time and effect the most meaningful change that is available to us at this moment. So, redecorating is changing the soft furnishings, layout and rearranging objects to go along with seasonal changes, or to accommodate our activities during these times. For example we might use our rooms differently in winter (for longer periods of time) than in the summer. However, redesign is a more in depth process that needs to draw on our lifestyle growing and changing, and us designing the space around our taste and aspiration.

Of course, a lot of this may depend, or be limited by space, or challenged by not having full freedom to make alterations – but we should never start believing that’s an obstacle that we cannot overcome. Because that kind of belief is going to guarantee dissatisfaction in life. It is more useful to have a bigger dream and really draw all your creative power to figuring out how can you best use all the resources available to achieve it. Yes, you can adapt and play with variations, but do not compromise on the belief that you have it in your power to make your dreams come true. Because truth is, no one else has that power in your life, but you. If you give it up, it’s kind of pointless going forward….

I am glad we had that little talk, because remember, my friend – everything starts with our mindset. As long as we know that we command and control the thinking in our mind – our mind will play along and actually be relieved that it doesn’t have to live in the constant state of doubt, disbelief and fear. That is so wearing. You are here to enjoy life and guess what – you get to create your happiness! So, let’s get busy with that.

Visions are powerful tools that can help us realise our dreams, faster and more accurately than if we just relinquish all creative power to someone else. In another post we will discuss in detail how everyone truly is an artist, but here I simply want to awaken your awareness. As you move through your day you are naturally sifting through choices – i.e. you notice things you like and things you don’t. The things you like, the reasons why they appeal to you – all of those things are stored in your soul, which has wonderful capacity to incorporate them and translate them into your own visions and dreams. You might not even be aware that this is going on. But you are automatically, all day long sifting through those choices: like this, don’t like this…. Love this, not too crazy about this…. Aahhh, that’s amazing, wish I could have something as amazing as this – oh, no I really don’t see how anyone would want that….

And on and on, all day long sifting and sorting these. So, now is the moment to draw our attention to the ‘Inspirations’ folder in our soul memory. That’s where all the dreams and wishes come to reality. Promise me you will stop asking yourself ‘but HOW?’, stop focusing on what is and where you are, and think what you have the ability to create. Start by brining a little joy to this moment just by allowing yourself to think of the possibilities. It amuses me when someone says those words ‘in an ideal world’…. Because, as I live and breathe this is the ideal universe of creation, and the creator is within each one us to inspire expansion in as many areas as you dare to imagine – but we are bent backwards to work against our nature, to hold ourselves back and to create so many problems by resisting the natural flow of abundance. It boggles every part of my mind that can comprehend and it boggles my consciousness that gets it without words. I don’t know why we do it.

So, again, here is your invitation in this meditation-mindset-correction to bring this awareness to create a dream environment around you – starting in and with your home. I’m doing the same thing. It doesn’t matter that my home is comfortable, safe, dry and warm. It can also be a dream, and we all deserve to live our dream! What was great five years ago has grown a lot since then. My own consciousness has expanded at such a rate and I have fully engaged with prioritising soul work for the past two years, as I was living through a healing phase in my life. I wanted to add the growth phase as well, but that goes without saying and if you don’t feel that you are growing, day by day, or at least year by year, then now is the time to challenge yourself and reward yourself with love.

Whatever happens in the next 360 days – we are going there stronger and better us, my friend. I will not settle for either one of us!

In order to trigger your safely stored inspirations folder, I am going to share some of mine. I have categories of inspirations and folders within folders – as I am sure you have, too. Feel free to share them with me if they are readily available to you, but if you are working through some resistance and trying to get to your inspiration today, than you are more than welcome to borrow mine.

To Recap

·   We want you to be uncompromising when it comes to living your dreams

·   Start working on shifting your belief to comfortable knowing that you are the creator of your reality – no one else gets that job but you, so own it

·   Take a look at the space in which you live and imagine its improved version, as well as how that would make you feel

·   Start bringing your awareness to the preference choices that are automatically going on in your head all day long (remember: like this, don’t like this)

·   Let’s bring these ideas and inspirations to one place and become closer to figuring out the style that this version of ourselves reflects to the world

I wish you some fun with this! Do join the challenge and let me know what are your thoughts on all this, my friend.

* * * * The Update – 360 Days to Dream * * * *

1.
Its day 5 of the project. Today I am thinking about the look, and that aligned with the style series post above. Its fun to look through some inspirational photos that I have collected and pinned, and it was fun putting the mood boards and images together – it solidifies the ideas, and really gives the imagination room to play. This is just the starting point, as by the time I reach the goal post – the vision expands naturally and I follow its flow. I do love creating interior concepts – that, and the practical side of things are two of my favourites.

2.
It feels so good to see the sunshine and to feel its light and warmth. It has been an overcast and wet winter for most of the time in London, so the unstoppable force of spring that is coming can be really felt and I can feel my soul rise in appreciation. It may seem off topic here, but I assure you that my energy is always at its highest when the sun is shining bright. I am glad next week, according to the forecast, is bringing a lot more of the sunshine, and with it a lot more activity around the renovation project, of course. I am loving the way it feels to be conscious of every day and all the moments – this countdown of days seems to help with that. I never applied that before in my life, but I like it a lot. The intention is unquestionable.

3.
New episode of This is Your Moment podcast is coming to you early tomorrow, so watch out for it, and make sure to set about 15 minutes to connect and listen to this show – it comes with pure love, positive energy and so much inspiration. Were in this together, my friend. You will hear what I mean when you listen all the way through, from the beginning till the end! Join our energy now. If you bring your own challenge to the table, you will create a significant shift and collect so many great victories along the way to creating your dream.

Also more work on the launch of catalogue to go live on Monday and carry on with that for the duration of the project, with planning the Live YT videos (coming in the next few weeks).

Remember – You Are Safe Here

This is the sacred place between our souls. Thank you for sharing your visions, dreams and ideas. Your courage to be vulnerably seen will always be respected, and you will be treated with nothing but kindness and compassion. ♡

P.S. One to pin and read later? You're welcome!
