From time to time I like to address the gentlest souls among us, to make sure their presence is felt: the not so outspoken who choose to deal with life’s challenges in a different way than most; those who embrace their inner struggles by offering the world a smile, positive energy and taking away the worry - for unknown to us are the tears from their soul – that is kept between God and them – but their light shines the brightest.
To honour the biggest teachers among us, as that is exactly what they are – let’s dedicate this day (whenever you read this - is a perfect day) to releasing anything or everything that is holding us back, that is not allowing us to be the best version of us in this day. Whether that is some pain from the past, some grudge against another person, frustration with yourself, worry about something that may never happen, or something else that is upsetting you at this moment– begin by noticing that those thoughts are not serving your purpose and be kinder to yourself by agreeing to let go. Just see what it would be like to no longer carry this burden around with you. It’s weighing so heavily on your shoulders, my dear friend.
See, kindness does start with you. As does forgiveness, and deciding that you can do something about it puts you in a much better state of being than believing that you are powerless in your own existence.
The second step is to bring awareness to what comes out of your mouth. And further - pause for a moment and think about everything you say, write, share in a form that displays disagreement, or lack of understanding. In fact, if the root of what comes out of you is not pure love, I would hold it without saying and stand back into the role of the observer – with gentle curiosity go deeper inside you to see where is the reason and what is the intention (notice that you are also in the role of the observed). No one benefits from us voicing the disagreement. There is pure positivity to be generated by simply stating our truth, coming from the deepest place of love, and not touching the opposing views, not drawing attention to them, not explaining why they are wrong and this is right. I assure you that everyone can make up their own mind, and we are here in this life, not separate from our source, having the capacity and the ability to be pure love, kindness and grace.
Speaking our truth – always. Defending, explaining or attacking – never.
Stand for what you believe in – and it will be evident from your life. Words are not needed when you live with love, allowing it in and allowing it out. Refrain from embodying anything that isn’t looking at the world from that place. Remember your true nature, and you will know that all is always well deep inside you. In that place, there is only love – connecting you with the larger part of you.

What glorious weather today. Please understand, it seldom happens in London, and especially after a long and grey winter to see the sunshine all day – is a miracle in itself. For me, as for almost everyone, I am sure - that always gives me an extra boost of energy and anything I think of seems like the perfect activity, even the less exciting household stuff. With the new division of my day (in test mode still), today was a day for the live art class I teach online, and for some painting. A new painting set up – I wish there were words to describe that excitement. But also, I found time to do some more sifting through kitchen cupboards, caring for all the household plants (I like to give them a ‘shower’ every so often, they really appreciate that).

Full of energy is the feeling of the day! I love the exquisite feeling of longer, warmer days, bright outlook – it’s becoming easy now to visualise the place in 365 days time. Also, fully realising and appreciating that the true power was always in my hands, but I didn’t always use it or understand it. Grateful that I do now and 8 years of waiting for a better day is not as bad as 18, or a lifetime of waiting. And that could have happened if I didn’t choose to accept all the responsibility.

More cleaning to come. I am almost getting thrilled about it. I will tell you the truth, that’s because I know what’s on the other side of that cleaning. I know that by moving inch by inch forward, I am closer to creating my goal, I am closer to getting stuck in choosing the subtle whites, and soft greys, and some other interesting finishes I keep dreaming about. Every day brings me closer to my dream, and that is priceless knowledge. To have been through all of this and to come out the other side – it’s already an accomplishment, a real one – the kind that wants me to keep going stronger and better every day.
