When I first saw it, I knew exactly what potential it had – and I spared no time and effort to make every detail of it perfect. It’s unabashedly sophisticated, but with the lines like those – who can blame it for knowing how to show off its beauty? And the gorgeous blue inside the drawers (which is, by the way, a complete secret it will share only with its owner) is a playful nod to the modern way of life. The Marble
Oh, the ‘marble’ is painted onto the wood – with the precision of the fine artist’s hand and eye. It not only looks like marble but feels like it too. The soft sheen is achieved with several layers of the finest quality clear wax. It is subtle and to touch it is luxurious and very much marble-like.
I can’t even begin to describe the pure joy of painting the top. If you have read any of my over 160 blog posts – you will have a good idea how much love and soul goes into everything I do, and particularly if that process requires an artists’ brush and paint.
The Photographs
There is an element of slight regret for not having more time with it to take a lot more photographs. However, this piece (although still available to buy from Indigo & Verdigris Etsy shop – click here to visit) is in private storage at the moment. The short time I had available to photograph its loveliness – was such a wet and dark couple of weeks (so it’s atypical for my usually natural light photography, but) all of these were taken indoors, using various artificial lights available at the time. It certainly feels as if it wanted to have this quality of mystery around it. I am very fond of them and this fine piece of furniture. I know you will enjoy this little story with your photographs here today. So, indulge, and don’t let me keep you.

What a perfect day to do e v e r y t h i n g you could possibly imagine doing! I love days like this one: warm and sunny, enough of the breeze to keep it fresh and so much warmth in the air. The first day I felt that the weather is getting back to how I like it best. We are not there yet, but summer is definitely coming along.
So, it was a perfect day for digital backups, house cleaning and start on the wardrobe clear out. First, the winter clothes, of course. There is so much satisfaction in every task connecting us with our home. As I was standing in the kitchen earlier, I could feel my vision coming to life: I could see the upper wall units going away. A thought slightly scares me, as I have known them all my life in every household dear to me. But, this is the time for greatest changes, for the emergence of the new. Je suis prête. Safe to say - I think I was born that way!

Oh, today feels like heaven. Just joyous, happy, mellow, active, busy day. The way I like them: full of purpose and meaning. Having talked about the need to let go of our addiction to labels and meanings, I am absolutely sure you will know what kind of meaning I was referring to. The meaning - hidden in the depth of light, love and joy. That’s the only ‘meaning’ and I belong to it with my entire being.

It’s only Saturday, but it feels so great. I do love Saturdays. For the longest time, that has been my favourite day of the week, for all the quality and the feeling of extended, elongated, or paused time. Still a lot to do today, so I will not elaborate here, but I do want to wish you and send you this joy and I hope that you are finding it in the smallest of details in your life, dear friend.
